Ingredients

½ cup dry red wine
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 small garlic clove, minced
½ tsp. dried oregano, crushed
½ tsp. salt
dash freshly ground pepper
1# beef (flank, sirloin, eye of round) sliced for stir-frying
1 Tbsp. margarine
4 pita breads
3 cups shredded lettuce (about ½ head)
1 cup diced, seeded, and peeled tomato (1 large)
1 cup diced, seeded cucumber (1 medium)
1 cup chive-flavored sour cream dip

Preparation

  • Combine wine, oil, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper. Pour over meat strips and marinate for about 1 hour at room temperature. (For longer marinating, refrigerate.)
  • Cut pitas in half and open to make pockets.
  • Set out dishes of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and sour cream dip.
  • Drain meat. Cook half at a time in hot oil, stirring to cook on all sides, for 2 to 3 minutes. Keep meat warm in chafing dish or on a hot tray.
  • Let sandwich eaters stuff their own with meat, vegetables, and dip.

I found this recipe on AllThingsCheese.com. It’s a great site for recipes featuring cheese!

  • 1 tub (8 oz.) Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread
  • 3 slices Turkey Bacon, cooked, crumbled
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent dinner rolls

Heat your oven to 375°F. and mix cream cheese spread and bacon in small bowl until well blended.

Take your rolls and separate can of dough into 8 triangles each. Cut each triangle in half lengthwise and spread each dough triangle with 1 tsp. of the cream cheese mixture. Roll up and start at shortest side of triangle and roll to the opposite point. Place point sides down on ungreased baking sheet.

Cook for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm and enjoy!
